THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING OSCAR marks the acclaimed actress’ debut as a theatrical producer. From child star to international actress, Ms. George has more than thirty major film credits and has had every movie in her hectic career chronicled and photographed by the world’s press. Under the guidance of her mother, who played in British musical comedies under the unexpected name of Bubbles Percival, Susan had appeared in eleven television plays and series and numerous commercials by the age of twelve. Her first big success came as one of the Von Trapp children in the London production of THE SOUND OF MUSIC, while her first major film role came when she was a teenager and landed the pivotal role in THE STRANGE AFFAIR, starring Michael York. She was then in constant demand to appear in good British films such as ALL NEAT IN BLACK STOCKINGS and THE LOOKING GLASS WAR. Her first major international film was TWINKY, starring Charles Bronson and Trevor Howard, followed by starring roles in SPRING AND PORT WINE with James Mason, EYEWITNESS and FRIGHT. In 1971 she landed the female lead in Sam Peckinpah’s controversial STRAW DOGS opposite Dustin Hoffman and became an international film star. Other films include DIRTY MARY, CRAZY LARRY, MANDINGO, A SMALL TOWN IN TEXAS and OUT OF SEASON, with Vanessa Redgrave and Cliff Robertson. For British television she starred in two episodes of the prestigious series, TALES OF THE UNEXPECTED and then starred with Richard Burton in the Bob Hope Special, LIVE AT THE PALLADIUM, for NBC. She also made her own musical special, SG NATURALLY. Her most recent film credits include ENTER THE NINJA, A TEXAS LEGEND, THE HOUSE WHERE EVIL DWELLS, VENOM and the current THE JIGSAW MAN in which she stars with Michael Cain and Lawrence Olivier. Upcoming is the premier of CZECH MATE, a film for British television and 20th Century Fox. Susan has just returned to Los Angeles from London after her critically acclaimed West End performance in Clifford’s Odet’s THE COUNTRY GIRL
